Heidi Dyer, Founder

Updated: Jul 31, 2023

Heidi Dyer is the creative force behind little seed revolution. As a teacher and artist Heidi has been leading individuals through the process of inquiry, self-discovery, and authentic expression for more than twenty years. She holds a MFA in Dance and is a Certified Yoga Therapy Teacher with advanced trainings in Yin and Restorative Yoga. Heidi is also a practicing massage therapist specialising in western techniques like: deep tissue massage, myofascial release, neuromuscular therapy, and myofascial cupping.

Born in the beautiful state of Oregon in the USA Heidi developed an early and abiding love for the natural world and enjoys gardening, hiking, camping, and any opportunity to combine her love of the arts with her love of nature. In 2017 she was invited to be an artist in residence at Guapamacátaro Center for Art & Ecology in Michoacán, Mexico. While in residence she created a site-based multi-media performance with video of the natural surroundings projected onto a custom gown designed and sewn by Alicia Marván.

In 2016 Heidi left her position as the head of the dance program at Portland Community College, sold her home, and set out to travel while looking for a more sustainable, humane way of life. After a couple of years of soul searching and lots of working and volunteering in yoga studios and retreat centres in Mexico, Guatemala, and Portugal she decided to open a small massage and yoga studio in the countryside of Portugal and to apply for full-time residency.

From 2019 to 2021 Heidi lived and worked at Souto Verde, a low impact organic farm nestled within the Parque Natural da Serra de São Mamede. There she practiced ancestral, off-grid living and learned more about low impact living. With plenty of time and isolation thanks to Covid, Heidi enjoyed the opportunity to connect to the land here in her new home, to build her skills as an organic gardener, and to establish an online community of women in midlife. Her sister project, Crone Comfort & Wisdom can be found here: www.cronecomfortandwisdom.com

She also hosts work exchanges on her farm in Portugal via Work Away.
